- On or about 04-Feb-96 13:33:00 Keith Stewart typed the following words about
- "A2630 extra mem hardware hack". My reply is thus...
-
-
- KS> I am becomming a little frustrated with the lack of mem in my A2500
- KS> now I am using ShapeShifter.
-
- KS> I have 8 meg FAST and 1 meg Chip made up of 4 meg 32bit on an A2630
- KS> and 4 meg 16bit on a GVP HC+8
-
- KS> Having installed a Picasso II and so lost 2 meg of autoconfig ram it
- KS> is a bit tight running MAC mem hungry applications.
-
- KS> I am looking at drastic measures such the hardware hack by Dirk Timmerman
- KS> and Thomas Riedel on making the board 8meg or 16meg ( from Aminet).
-
- KS> Has any tried this hack and did it work and how reliable was the A2630
- KS> after :-). It has been rock solid since I bought it.
-
- KS> On another note will this hack give me more contiguous mem as SS
- KS> requires this. At present the A2630 and GVP mem merge into a block and
- KS> even with Picasso II board in I still get contiguous mem of 6 meg (
- KS> Setcpu HEAD option is great )
-
- KS> Are the pals still available from the authors?
-
- KS> Thanks
-
- KS> Keith

- Have you thought of geting a DKB 2632? It takes up to 112 megs of ram in
- standard 72 pin nonparity SIMMs.
